SHACS poster
Poster proposal for University of Brighton School of Historical & Critical Studies degree show in 2009.
My poster is a commentary on ever changing world around us, especial in areas such as Culture, Art, Design & Society. By using a broken-up picture of Duchamp’s ready-made work – Fountain, I refered to happenings of Pierre Pinoncelli, who struck it with a hammer and called his action a work of art, a tribute to Duchamp and other Dada artists. In a similar way to that of public shock and debate about whether Duchamp’s work was piece of art in 1917, when Fountain was presented at the first exhibition of the Society of Independent Artists in New York, Pinoncelli’s actions question us and our own understanding
of Art, Culture and world around us.
